Valve Counts to Three – Week In Review

Valve Counts to Three – Week In Review

GameHub Lite, GameNative & the Android PC Revolution

Our first post of the week was on Sunday when my friend dash posted their next Developer Interview!

GameHub Lite, GameNative and the Android PC Revolution: An Interview With the Developers
The notion of running full PC games on an Android device used to feel like a bit of a hack: sideload this, patch that, hope your phone didn’t overheat, and pray the games even work. But over the past couple of years, thanks to faster mobile hardware, better compatibility

This was our most popular article from the week receiving over 3k views! In this article, dash talks to the developers who are pushing PC emulation on Android forward through utilities like GameHub Lite and GameNative!

Gettin' NASty with the Minisforum N5

Then I posted an article on Monday all about my Minisforum N5 NAS.

Setting up my Minisforum N5 NAS
Hint: I made it *way* more complicated than I needed to!

In this article, I get intimately familiar with dread and terror while attempting to migrate my ZFS pool from my old custom-built server to this device. Not to mention... drastically overcomplicate things.

New Steam Hardware

In case you missed it, Valve counted to three this week–unveiling three new first party Steam devices. The new Steam Controller, new Steam Machine, and the Steam Frame.

The biggest PC gaming news of ALL TIME
Valve’s six minute announcement video just changed PC gaming with the premier of three new PC gaming devices: the New Steam Controller, New Steam Machine, and Steam Frame.

It may not come as a shock to learn that this was our second most popular article of the week!

I also reacted to the news on my channel:

Steam Frame: Every Detail

Excited by this news, I went through most of the Steam Frame coverage I could find from various press outlets and all the details into a roundup.

Everything we know about the Steam Frame
Here are all the details, all the specs, and the things that other creators with hands-on experience are reporting…

This was also made into a video:

Chapter 8

Then, my friend B.E. posted the next chapter of their book, The Curse of Introspection.

The Curse of Introspection (Chapter 8)
An impromptu visit to Cadillac Mountain ends in an emergency.

In this chapter, Elizabeth, Brittany, Ansel, and Pearl adventure up Cadillac Mountain... but will their adventure spell disaster?

Mozilla's AI Sin

Finally, on Saturday, I penned an impromptu opinion piece about Mozilla's latest AI abomination: AI Window.

Mozilla: AI in the browser is disgusting. Please stop.
Mozilla keeps talking about AI as if it can be great. It can’t be. It’s antithetical to their mission and nobody wants it.

Mozilla acts like they're doing us a favor by making their AI slop built in, but "optional." I highly recommend reading this article if you haven't already. It has sparked a ton of comments, likes, and shares on Mastodon!
